In partnership with The Woman's Club of Minneapolis and The Current, SMA is excited to present the return of The Music & Storyteller Sessions and the historic Woman's Club! The series offers fans a rich live event experience with some of today's most prolific voices in music and literature. Audiences will have the unique opportunity to hear the inside stories and inspiring eents that have shaped the creative journeys of some of their favorite established and emerging artists.
The Spring 2023 Series includes:
- March 12: A Special Edition of Sue Scott's Island of Discarded Women Live Show and Podcast featuring musical guests from past and present shows to raise their voices and sing potent original songs, share the stories behind those songs, and answer questions! Special guests include Jennifer Grimm, Ann Reed, Zippy Laske, Courtney Yasmineh and SingHers.
- March 25: Paul Metsa in Celebration of Alphabet Jazz featuring an interview with music journalist Andrea Swensson and a set with his longtime musical compatriots Sonny Earl and Mari Harris.
- April 1: A solo performance by Midwesterner and multi-talented tour de force Lissie!
- April 14: Meghan & Michael (of Kiss the Tiger) in a special "It Takes Two" performance! The duo will celebrate and share the fruits of their artistic partnership.
- May 13: Dave Simonett, the lead singer, guitar player and songwriter for the widely popular and and beloved roots band, Trampled by Turtles.
