SMA and The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis present the return of The Music & Storyteller Sessions Series to the Twin Cities, offering fans a rich live event experience with some of today’s most prolific voices in music and literature. Don’t miss the first show in the series this Spring – a special all-music edition of Sue Scott’s Island of Discarded Women live show and podcast on Sunday, March 12 at The Woman’s Club!
Musical guests from past, present and future shows will be joining creator/host Sue Scott in The Theater at the Woman’s Club to raise their voices and sing potent original songs, share the stories behind those songs, and answer your questions about their unique musical journeys.
Special guests include Jennifer Grimm, Ann Reed, Zippy Laske, Courtney Yasmineh and the new trio SingHers with Thomasina Petrus, Kathleen Johnson & Gwen Matthews! 

All Music, All Women, All on one Stage! This will be a 90-minute show with no intermission.

VIP Package: VIP ticket includes premier seating on the Orchestra (Main Floor) Level, reserved parking for one vehicle, early entry to pre-show social hour in The Lounge at 5:30, and one complimentary drink ticket.


About Sue Scott
Creator, host Sue Scott is a veteran stage and commercial voice over-actor, who for 24 years was the female cast member on the public radio show A Prairie Home Companion. After PHC, Sue created Island of Discarded Women live show & podcast and is now thoroughly immersed in producing this “podcast with a purpose!”

Jennifer Grimm is a nationally celebrated vocalist and composer/lyricist who is also a newly minted Member of the Recording Academy. Having sung since she was a kid, Jennifer’s gift is her amazing versatility along with her charismatic stage presence.

About Ann Reed
Songwriter, singer, guitarist Ann Reed has been performing for more than 40 years with her rich, dark-chocolate voice and storytelling from the human experience. She has toured North America coast to coast, doing concerts, clubs, festivals where her golden vocals, masterful guitar work, and keen wit are center stage.

About Zippy Laske
Zippy Laske has been our talented and prolific singer/songwriter on the podcast since its inception in 2018. She writes and composes a terrific new song for the live show each month, which never ceases to amaze. Her versatility and flexibility are second to none!

About Courtney Yasmineh
Folk-rock-country singer/songwriter, Courtney Yasmineh has been writing songs for 50 years, produced 8 albums, toured the world and published a novel.
