Sue McLean & Associates and The Current present THE WOOD BROTHERS Live at The ROC, with special guest Elias Hix.

ABOUT RECREATION OUTDOOR CENTER (“THE R.O.C.”)
The ROC is a multi-use outdoor facility located in St. Louis Park in the Twin Cities market. During the summer, a dry, concrete floor provides space for a variety of special events, including concerts and community events. SMA is launching a new summer and fall concert series at The ROC. It’s a perfect spot, with great amenities for live music fans, including both the stage and audience being covered by an expansive canopy.

The Wood Brothers have learned to trust their hearts. For the better part of two decades, they’ve cemented their reputation as freethinking songwriters, road warriors, and community builders, creating a catalog of diverse music and a loyal audience who’ve grown alongside them through the years. That evolution continues with Heart is the Hero, the band’s eighth studio album. Recorded analog to 16-track tape, this latest effort finds its three creators embracing the chemistry of their acclaimed live shows by capturing their performances in real-time direct from the studio floor with nary a computer in sight. An acoustic-driven album that electrifies, Heart is the Hero is stocked with songs that target not only the heart, but the head and hips, too. www.thewoodbros.com

The Wood Brothers have partnered with American Friends of Canadian Conservation so that $1 per ticket will support The Nature Trust of British Columbia (NTBC) in their efforts to conserve ecologically-rich wetlands and protect irreplaceable land from development. Every $1 donated will be matched by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service with $2 so more endangered wetlands can be saved.

Elias Hix is a star in the making. At just 18 years old, the multi-talented musician has already made strides in the industry — all while producing, performing, mixing and mastering his entire discography. Growing up on a cattle farm in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Elias Hix fell in love with music early on in life. Trained in classical music and stand-up bass, and shaped by his rural upbringing, Hix creates music that effortlessly captures these influences. His unique mix of classical skills and small-town roots gives his music an irreplicable, genuine sound.

Hix released his debut album, Thinner, one of the most sonically advanced albums of 2023. The 9-track album features a beautiful blend of country, indie, and folk, top-notch songwriting, and uniquely sculpted instrumentals.
