Q: What time does the amphitheater open for Music in the Zoo concerts?
A: The amphitheater opens for concert seating at 7:00PM and music begins at 7:30PM, unless otherwise noted.
Q: Are concert tickets available at the Zoo box office?
A: The Minnesota Zoo is not a ticket outlet. However, if a show is not sold out, a limited number of Music in the Zoo concert tickets will be available for sale at the Minnesota Zoo’s Box Office after 6:30PM the evening of the concert.
Note: a $4.00 service fee, per ticket, will be applied to each order processed at the Minnesota Zoo’s Box Office.
Q: Where is the best place to park?
A: At the Minnesota Zoo. The Minnesota Zoo has large surface parking lots available to guests. Upon entering the Minnesota Zoo, follow signs for parking.
Q: How much does it cost to park on site at the MN Zoo for a concert?
A: The parking fee is $7.00 per vehicle (cash or credit card) for all concertgoers, including Zoo members.
Q: What recommendations do you have when weather calls for rain?
A: Ponchos or raincoats are best for attending the show in the rain and not obstructing the view of other attendees. All concerts are billed “rain or shine” and if the artist performs, tickets will not be refunded. If severe weather restricts an artist from performing, buyers from that specific show will be notified about the refund policy or rescheduled date.
Note: Umbrellas are not permitted in the venue.
Q: Is photography or recording of the concerts permitted?
A: No. Cameras with a removable lens, video equipment and/or recording equipment are not allowed without advanced written permission.
Q: Can working media secure access for photography / videography?
A: It varies. Press requests will be evaluated on a per show basis. Press requests should be submitted no later than 72 hours in advance of each show. Requests can be submitted to: info@suemclean.com. Approved media will be contacted with details and restrictions.
Q: Is the amphitheater accessible for people with special needs?
A: Yes. Accessible seating is in the front of the amphitheater and seats must be selected at the time of ticket purchase via Etix. If a guest has mobility issues or needs assistance getting to the amphitheater, please inquire at Guest Services at the Minnesota Zoo Box Office, and staff will provide on-site assistance.
Q: How many people does the amphitheater seat?
A: The amphitheater features reserved seating for 1,340 guests. All seating is wooden bench stadium-style, with the exception of box seats. The box seats have four folding chairs each.
Q: Are there ATMs available on-site?
A: Yes. There are several ATMs available onsite, but fans are encouraged to bring cash or credit cards for food, beverage and merchandise. ATMs are located in Discovery Bay, near the Call of the Wild Café. and in the farmhouse basement.
Q: May we bring our children to the concerts?
A: Yes. Concerts are family-friendly. All guests older than the age of one will be charged full price and will need to purchase a seat.
Q: Are VIP box seats available?
A: Yes. VIP box seats are available for concerts. VIP Box prices vary per concert. Visit etix.com for show specific prices.
Q: Is smoking permitted?
A: No. The Minnesota Zoo is a smoke-free facility. Smoking, including vaping, the use of electronic cigarettes, is not allowed on the Minnesota Zoo grounds. This policy is effective for both public hours and all after-hours events, including the Music in the Zoo concert series.
Q: Will we be permitted to leave the venue and return?
A: No. There is a no re-entry policy once you’ve entered the Zoo.
Q: Does a concert ticket allow access to the Zoo prior to the concert?
A: Yes. A Music in the Zoo concert ticket will allow access into the Zoo starting at 4PM. Present your concert ticket at the main entrance and you may come early and visit the Zoo until 6PM. Doors for the concert open at 7PM.
Q: If we visit the Zoo prior to the concert, are there any restaurants open for dinner?
A: Yes. The Grizzly Coast Café and World Tacos are open for pre-concert meals and snacks. Other stands will also be open during the 4-6PM time frame.
Q: May we bring our own food and beverage?
A: No. Food and beverages are for sale at the Minnesota Zoo, therefore outside items are prohibited.
Q: May we tailgate prior to the concert?
A: No. Tailgating is not permitted in the Minnesota Zoo parking lot.
Q: Is there anything else Music in the Zoo fans should know?
A: Yes. For the safety and security of guests and staff, all bags will be inspected prior to entry into the amphitheater and prohibited items will be removed. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, all types of weapons, projectiles, umbrellas and outside food or beverages.
