The Weesner Family Amphitheater offers a unique outdoor musical experience for the entire family. Here are a few frequently asked questions:

Q: May we visit the Zoo prior to the concert?
A: Your concert ticket is your admission to the Zoo after 4PM. You may come early and visit the Zoo until 6PM.

Q: If we visit the Zoo prior to the concert, are there any restaurants open for dinner?
A: Grizzy Coast Café or World Tacos are open for pre-concert meals and snacks!

Q: May we bring our own food and beverage?
A: Food and beverages are for sale at the Zoo. Outside items are prohibited.

Q: What time does the amphitheater open?
A: The amphitheater opens for concert seating at 7PM, unless otherwise indicated.

Q: Are concert tickets available at the Zoo box office?
A: The Minnesota Zoo is not a ticket outlet, but sell tickets day-of-show for concerts. If a concert is NOT sold out, tickets will be available at the Zoo after 6:30PM the evening of the concert. Please note that a $4.00 service fee per ticket will be applied to each order.

Q: Where do we park?
A: There is plenty of parking available in the Zoo parking lots. The parking fee is $7.00 per vehicle (cash only) for all concertgoers, including Zoo members.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: All concerts are rain or shine, and if the artist performs, tickets will not be refunded. Umbrellas are not permitted in the amphitheater, so leave umbrellas in your vehicle. We suggest ponchos for rainy weather.

Q: Is photography or recording permitted?
A: No cameras with a removable lens, video equipment, or recording equipment are allowed without advanced written permission.

Q: Is the amphitheater accessible for people with special needs?
A: If you have mobility issues or need assistance getting to the amphitheater, please inquire at Guest Services at the Box Office, and we’ll provide assistance.

Q: How many people does the amphitheater seat?
A: The amphitheater features reserved seating for 1,450 guests. All seating is wooden bench stadium-style, with the exception of box seats.

Q: Are there ATMs available onsite?
A: Yes, there are several ATMs available onsite, but you may want to bring cash for food, beverage, and merchandise.

Q: May we bring our children to the concerts?
A: Yes, our concerts are family-friendly. All guests older than the age of one will be charged full price and will need to purchase a seat.

Q: Are VIP box seats available?
A: Yes, we do offer VIP box seats for selected concerts. There is an additional fee for these box seats.

Q: Is smoking permitted?
A: Effective April 1, 2014, the Minnesota Zoo is a completely smoke-free facility. This policy is effective for both public hours and all after-hours events, including the Music in the Zoo concert series. No smoking on Minnesota Zoo property includes the use of lighted cigarettes, cigars, pipes or other smoking materials, as well as e-cigarettes.

Q: Will we be permitted to leave the venue and return?
A: No re-entry is allowed once you’ve entered the Zoo.

Q: May we tailgate prior to the concert?
A: Tailgating is not permitted in the Zoo parking lot.

Q: Anything else we should know?
A: All prices, dates, and artists are subject to change. Service fees are non-refundable. All bags will be inspected prior to entry into the amphitheater and prohibited items removed, including all types of weapons.
