ABOUT AMOS LEE
Over the course of more than a dozen years and six studio albums, Amos Lee has continued to evolve, develop, and challenge himself as a musician. With SPIRIT, he makes his biggest creative leap yet. Most notably, for the first time, Lee acted as his own producer.
For Amos Lee, SPIRIT is the fulfillment of dreams and aspirations—musical, personal, and professional—that he’s had for a long time. “All you can ask for as an artist is the chance to create what you hear and feel inside of yourself,” he says. “The performances by everyone gave me such a strong place to draw from, and being more connected to the arrangements made it easier and more fun to sing. For my first time producing, I could not have been luckier—I was able to get into the heart of every single moment of this record.”
Siblings David and Daniel (twins), and their sister Julia have been playing together their whole lives. Growing up in NYC with both parents being professional orchestral and chamber musicians music has always been the centerpiece of their lives; their father a cellist, composer & teacher and mother a flutist. BAILEN started in 2014 with their childhood friend Pierre. Their music is nostalgic with melodic hooks and a deep soulful quality, all with a modern, youthful perspective. Since forming BAILEN, they have starred on London’s West End (Daniel in Close to You), played all over Europe and the United States, and most recently toured Taiwan with Mando-Pop star Yen-J. They are regulars at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City where they recently finished up an unprecedented 40-show residency culminating in the Downtown Comes Uptown series with WFUV at Lincoln Center. They have also recently played The Bowery Ballroom in NYC and frequently sing the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden. The band has collectively appeared, performed, or collaborated with Burt Bacharach, The Lone Bellow, Joseph, Raul Midon, Diane Birch, Animal Years, American Authors, Pig Pen Theater Co, Oh Honey, The Marcus King Band, Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Bill Withers, and Dianne Reeves.
Tickets will be available to purchase in person at Bunkers Music Bar & Grill 11AM to 2PM on Saturday, April 22nd only.
