Sonny Landreth

Sonny Landreth

Sonny Landreth is a slide guitar wizard – a guitarist’s guitarist. His music encompasses Mississippi Delta blues, zydeco, and Southern rock. But he also creates sounds that are all his own — sounds he calls the "music behind the glass. According to Eric Clapton, Sonny Landreth is "probably the most underestimated musician on the planet." A Louisi- ana native and slide-guitar master, Landreth came to prominence playing in the band of Zydeco king Clifton Chenier. As an in-demand session and touring player, Landreth has contributed to the work of artists including John Hiatt, Dr. John, Maria Muldaur, Mar- shall Crenshaw, Government Mule, Little Feat, and Beausoleil, among others.
